World Health Day, WHO celebrates 70th anniversary
World health Day was born on April 7, 1948 with a clear and ambitious vision: a world in which everyone enjoys the highest attainable standard of health.
Although we have progressed against some major deaths and diseases of the world in recent years, we still have a lot of work to realize that vision.
World Health Day Today
Today, half of the world's population can not access essential health services. Millions of women give birth without the help of a skilled attendant; Millions of children remember vaccination against killer diseases, and millions suffer and die because they can not get treatment for HIV, TB and malaria.In 2019, this is simply unacceptable.
The good news is that the movement is on the rise to overcome these inequalities.
In October last, we saw a significant commitment to health for everyone in Kazakhstan, with signing the Historical Declaration of Astana on Primary World Health Day.
Primary Health
This was an important milestone. Strong and sustainable primary health care is the basis of universal health coverage, and is the best defense against outbreaks and other health emergencies.Although there will always be outbreaks and other disasters with the consequences of health, investing in strong health systems can help prevent or reduce them.
In continuous development goals, all countries have committed to achieving universal health coverage (UHC) by 2030. In order to fulfill that goal, we will have to see 1 billion people benefiting from UHC in the next 5 years.
This is not an unattainable dream, nor will it require billions of dollars to be implemented. UHC is worth all the time for us to receive.
It is also possible for all those who have health health systems which are less than complete - at many different income levels, the country is progressing with the resources they have.
Joins the Hand
On Friday 5th April, WHO's colleagues joined hands with the employees of health and development organizations around the world, which is a symbol of our shared commitment to ensuring health everywhere, everywhere.This shared commitment will be fundamental because we are heading towards the next milestone toward global health coverage at the United Nations High Level Meeting at Universal Health Coverage in New York at the end of this year.
In that meeting, world leaders will have the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to UHC so that it can be ensured that every mother can be safely born, that every child survives after her fifth birthday, and that They simply do not die because they are poor.
Celebration Of WHD
As we celebrate World Health Day, I pay tribute to health workers all over the world who are working to promote health, keep the world safe and serve weak people. I particularly thank the WHO's dedicated personnel and our partners who are working around the clock in odd circumstances, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and Yemen.Universal Health means that access to all the people around the world, without discrimination, without any financial difficulty, wherever they are needed, to a wide range of services. The World health organisation said on Sunday, "Even though we have made a lot of progress against death and disease in some of the major causes of the world in recent years, we still have a lot of work to realize that vision."
